2. We Are Not a Swim School
JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund does not directly provide swim lessons, swim instruction, lifeguard services, water safety certification, aquatic supervision, pool management, or emergency response training.
Our mission is to remove financial barriers for underserved and marginalized families by raising funds to sponsor swim lessons and water safety courses for children ages 0–14 through accredited swim schools and qualified child-focused providers across Arizona.
Any swim lessons, water safety courses, or instruction funded or supported through JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund are provided by third-party swim schools, instructors, facilities, or qualified providers. These providers are responsible for their own instruction, safety procedures, certifications, policies, scheduling, facilities, supervision, insurance, and professional standards.
3. No Guarantee of Safety or Prevention
Swim lessons and water safety education can be important layers of drowning prevention, but they do not guarantee that a child will be safe around water or that drowning will be prevented.
No single safety measure can eliminate all risk. Water safety requires multiple layers of protection, which may include active adult supervision, barriers, properly fitted life jackets, professional swim lessons, water safety education, emergency preparedness, CPR training, pool rules, and ongoing vigilance.
JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund does not guarantee any outcome from swim lessons, water safety courses, educational materials, videos, books, resources, or referrals.
4. Always Supervise Children Around Water
Children should always be actively supervised by a responsible adult around water, including pools, bathtubs, lakes, rivers, ponds, canals, fountains, buckets, toilets, spas, and other water hazards.
Educational resources, books, videos, swim lessons, life jackets, pool fences, alarms, and other safety tools do not replace active adult supervision.
For young children, supervision should be close, constant, and undistracted.
5. Emergency Situations
This website is not intended to provide emergency instructions or emergency response services.
If a child or any person is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number right away.
If you are responsible for children around water, consider obtaining CPR training and emergency preparedness education from qualified providers.
6. Educational Resources
JJ Says mini videos, JJ’s Water Safety Adventures, website articles, social media posts, downloadable materials, and other educational resources are created to support general water safety awareness and family conversations.
These materials are not a substitute for professional swim instruction, certified water safety courses, CPR training, emergency preparedness, medical care, legal advice, or individualized safety planning.
Parents, guardians, caregivers, schools, swim schools, pediatric offices, hospitals, clubs, HOAs, apartment communities, churches, and community organizations should use their own judgment and consult qualified professionals when making water safety decisions.
7. Third-Party Swim Schools and Providers
JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund may work with, fund, refer to, list, or communicate with accredited swim schools, qualified swim instruction providers, water safety educators, community organizations, or other third-party providers.
References to third-party providers do not necessarily mean JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund controls, manages, supervises, endorses, guarantees, or assumes responsibility for their services.
Families are responsible for reviewing and selecting any swim school, instructor, course, provider, or facility they believe is appropriate for their child. Families should ask providers about credentials, accreditation, insurance, safety policies, instructor qualifications, child supervision practices, emergency procedures, refund policies, and experience with the child’s age and needs.
8. Donations and Use of Funds
Donations to JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund support our mission, which may include swim lesson sponsorships, water safety education, drowning prevention resources, community outreach, educational materials, administrative needs, fundraising costs, book-related outreach, media resources, and other mission-related expenses.
While we make every reasonable effort to use donations responsibly and in alignment with our mission, donations may not always be restricted to a specific child, family, school, provider, event, or program unless expressly agreed in writing.
Donation processing may be handled by third-party payment platforms, which are subject to their own terms, privacy policies, fees, and processing rules.
9. Fundraising, Sponsorships, and Program Availability
Program availability, swim lesson sponsorships, funding assistance, partnerships, community outreach, and family support opportunities may depend on available donations, provider availability, eligibility guidelines, geographic area, administrative capacity, and other factors.
Submission of an inquiry, application, contact form, interest form, or referral does not guarantee approval, funding, placement, swim lesson availability, partnership acceptance, or any particular service.
JJ’s Safe Swim Memorial Fund reserves the right to modify, pause, limit, or discontinue programs, campaigns, resources, partnerships, or funding opportunities at any time.

JJ’s Water Safety Adventures, JJ Says videos, website content, social media content, graphics, illustrations, and other media are intended for educational awareness and mission support.
These materials are not emergency training tools and should not be treated as complete water safety instruction.
